Presentation in Lieu of Paper

1. OVERVIEW

  • It is expected that presenters will provide a written paper for the proceedings, however in certain circumstances we may permit a presentation to be submitted to the proceedings in lieu of a written paper. 
  • Presentations submitted for the proceedings must be primarily technical in content. Marketing/sales based presentations will not be accepted. It is a requirement that presentations submitted for the proceedings must be prepared and formatted in accordance with these Guidelines. 
  • The title page of the presentation will be replaced by the abstract in the proceedings.
  • Submission of an abstract is deemed to be acceptance of the ALTA 2022 Author & Presenter Guidelines, including Copyright. The Guidelines and further information including tools, templates and FAQs are available from

2. FORMAT

  • Corporate branding, background graphics and background colours are not permitted in presentations submitted for the proceedings. However, they are permitted in the conference presentation, therefore you may wish to prepare two versions of the presentation.
  • Presentations must be submitted in Microsoft PowerPoint format.
  • Use of the ALTA 2022 Presentation Template is encouraged, but not compulsory.
  • Use of corporate templates is acceptable provided that "ALTA 2022" or the conference logo for white backgrounds or dark backgrounds is included on each slide. 
  • Presentations will be shown on widescreens with 16:9 aspect ratio. Content may be presented in 4:3 ratio however the screen will show black bars on each side. Please refer to Widescreen Presentation Tips for instructions on converting from 4:3 to 16:9 format. 

3. CORRECTIONS

  • Presentations may be edited after the conference prior to inclusion in final proceedings.
  • ALTA will send the master version of presenters to presenters for edit and return. Updates of the original presentation will not be accepted.
  • Deadline for submission of post-conference revised papers is 14 June. If an update is not received by this date, the existing master will be published in the proceedings.

4. SUBMISSION

  • Send your presentation in lieu of a paper in PowerPoint format to Alan Taylor at alantaylor@altamet.com.au with a copy to Renee Bennet at renee.bennett@encanta.com.au.
  • Presentations for the proceedings must be submitted in PowerPoint format to enable incorporation into the proceedings. PDF presentations will not be accepted.
