Hybrid FAQs

Why are we going hybrid?

We are going hybrid because international delegates may not be able to travel as a result of the pandemic or its economic impact. By providing both opportunities, it makes the conference accessible for all.

What will happen during the virtual component of the Hybrid Conference?

The format of the Virtual Conference will be very familiar to the Face-to-Face Conference occurring simultaneously. The Conference will feature 5 Conferences each including a keynote speaker and a panel discussion.  There will be a live Q&A after each presentation and panel which will be moderated by a chairperson, questions can be asked from the in person as well as the online audience.

Additionally, there will be time for interactive networking with fellow virtual attendees and opportunities to explore the Virtual Exhibition, where you will be able to engage directly with exhibitors.

View the demonstration video here.

What does registration include?

Virtual Conference registrants will have access to the online platform which will enable you to:

  • View all the presentations and ask questions live.
  • Participate in live interactive networking functions.
  • Visit the Virtual Exhibition to meet and interact with exhibitors.
  • Pre-arrange meetings with delegates, presenters & exhibitors through the Meeting Hub.
  • Utilize a suite of tools to enhance your attendance including live Q&A, event notes, contact exchange and downloadable content.

What are the benefits of a Hybrid Conference?

  • Enable the participation of international delegates unable to travel to Australia due to the pandemic restrictions.
  • Provides residents of Australia with the opportunity to network Face-to-Face.
  • Online materials and recorded sessions will enhance the exchange of knowledge and author and audience contact, during and even after the Conference.

Once registered as a virtual attendee, can I change my registration to Face to Face?

Yes, if changes to the pandemic restrictions allow travel to Australia.

Once registered as an in-person attendee, can I change my registration to the virtual?

Yes, if the pandemic restrictions do not allow you to travel to Perth.

When will I receive my link to the online portal?

Virtual Conference registrants will be sent a registration link by email one week prior to the event. Please check your junk folder if you do not receive the access email. If you do not receive the email, please contact alta@encanta.com.au to have this resent to you.

Will sessions be available for viewing after the Conference?

Those who register for the ALTA 2022 Conference will have access to on-demand content post event. Virtual attendees are encouraged to attend the live sessions to foster networking, participation, and a Conference-like experience.

Do I need reliable internet?

Yes, we recommend that you have reliable internet to get the most out of the Conference. Hardwired internet is generally more reliable and faster than Wi-Fi.

What time zone will the program be in?

The time zone will be in Australian Western Standard Time. To check your time zone please click here.

Will sessions be pre-recorded or live?

The online program will be a mix of pre-recorded and live presentations. Live Q&A will be available with presenters in both formats keeping in mind some of our international presenters time-zones that may prevent them from participating.

Will attendees be able to ask questions and participate in sessions?

Yes.  After each presentation there will be a brief Q&A time for questions to presenters from both face to face and virtual attendees, and a longer time after each panel discussion.  Questions can be submitted via the virtual conference platform or from the audience floor. The session chair will select the most popular questions and may not be able to ask all questions due to time constraints. Questions not answered because of time limitation will be referred to the presenter for later response.

Will I need to download specific software?

Specific software is not required.  You will be provided with a weblink to the virtual conferencing platform. Google Chrome is the recommended browser for the Conference web application. If you typically use Internet Explorer or Safari, it is recommended that you download Chrome prior to the event. It offers Zoom facilities fully embedded in a personal and secured environment. Full online support before and during the Conference will be available to all the virtual attendees, speakers and exhibitors.

We strongly advise that you participate in the Conference via your desktop or laptop computer that has speakers. Mobile devices are supported; however, the best experience will be via computer. You will also require a reliable broadband internet connection.

What is a Virtual Exhibition?

Just like the traditional exhibition at the face-to-face Conference, attendees can visit the virtual exhibition hall and engage with exhibitors. Attendees can view exhibitor information, download brochures and videos, and when the exhibition is open, engage in instant meetings, by video, with exhibitors.
