Internationally recognised for pioneering gene therapy approaches for Spinal Muscular Atrophy and Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy in the UAE, Dr Vivek Mundada brings extensive expertise in paediatric neurology and advanced therapeutics, having worked across leading institutions including Great Ormond Street Hospital and The Royal London Hospital in the United Kingdom. Delegates will gain insights into study design considerations, monitoring requirements, and emerging learnings from early international experience.
The session will be expertly chaired by Clinical Associate Professor Maina Kava, Paediatric Neurologist at Perth Children’s Hospital, Director and Co-Founder of Paedwest Clinic, and Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Western Australia Medical School.

Clive Phillips is a dedicated health advocate, lover of outdoor adventure and founder of the social enterprise Making the Most of Now. Originally from the UK. Clive is a British Army veteran who has served in Northern Ireland, Iraq and Afghanistan. Since 2010, he has lived in New Zealand and has managed disaster response and recovery projects in New Zealand, Fiji, Vanuatu and Papua New Guinea and logistics projects in Antarctica. Diagnosed with Multifocal Motor Neuropathy (MMN) in late 2019. Clive founded Making the Most of Now, to further understanding of MMN and support and inspire those with it. Since 2021, he has led cycling challenges that have raised nearly US$200,000 for MMN research. His latest adventure, the Tour de MMN, a3,200km ride following the route of the 1955 Tour de France, is documented in the recently released film No One Rides Alone. To support his work with the MMN community, Clive has gradually widened the scope of Making the Most of Now. He now works with people affected by and organisations supporting those affected by a range of different rare conditions.
