Fremantle Prison    

Dive into Western Australia’s fascinating convict history when you visit the UNESCO Heritage listed Fremantle Prison. The building was originally constructed by convicts as a maximum-security prison in the 19th century and was used continually until 1991.Over the years, many dramatic events took place at Fremantle Prison such as convict escapes, prisoner riots and executions. The last hanging at the prison took place as recently as the 1960’s!

Fremantle Markets  

When you’re trying to decide what to do in Fremantle, the market is an obvious choice. This is a market with a long history stretching back to 1897. It’s a favourite among locals and visitors alike and a great spot for shopping for gifts.

Round House 

The Round House is the oldest public building in Australia and the oldest in WA. It was built to house convicts but later became a police lock-up.  From the top of the building, you have a view over to Rottnest Island.

Located in the FOMO King Square building, get ready for the craziest round of mini golf you've ever played, Fremantle.With 18 uniquely themed holes across two courses, including never before seen holes, Holey Moley has really raised the par with this one.This is mini golf like you've never seen it before...Play a game of putt putt Red Light, Green Light, avoid crashed UFOs and catch a film at HOLEYwood (beware of Golfzilla!). Monument Hill Park

Located at the top of the hill on High Street (east of the city centre), this 4.45-ha public reserve houses the city’s war memorials. With well maintained lawns and beautiful rose gardens, the reserve offers sweeping views of Fremantle, the harbour and Garden Island. Enjoy a picnic and watch the sunset over the ocean from this special vantage point.

WA Maritime Museum 

Appropriately located on Fremantle’s waterfront, the Maritime Museum tells the story of WA’s nautical history, from the ocean explorers of the early days to naval defense during the wars. This fantastic museum is a must for anyone keen to learn how the state of WA was discovered and created.The Maritime Museum is home to many permanent collections but throughout the year, you will find a number of pop-up exhibitions featuring fascinating maritime history from around the world, not always specific to WA.

Fremantle Tourist Wheel

Fremantle's Tourist Wheel has remained an icon since it opened in 2013. Providing the most spectacular views of Fremantle and its pristine Western Australian landscape, with architecture you could only dream of. This is the perfect attraction for a day out with your family and friends.

Leighton Beach

Leighton Beach is a popular beach just north of Fremantle offering lovely snorkelling, swimming or just an easily accessible spot for enjoying a trip to the beach. With low wave conditions it is suitable for young children. Laze on the soft white sandy beach and observe the skilled wind and kite surfers tackling the winds off the shore.Cool off in the refreshing waters of the Indian Ocean and try your hand at body surfing. On a calm day ensure you have a snorkel to observe the marine life under the water.
