Communication and Collaboration Skills Curricula Research Focus Group
DEVELOPING A NEW RANZCR COMMUNICATION CURRICULUM
Why:
Effective healthcare communication provides better clinical outcomes, less malpractice claims, and most importantly, more satisfied patients and healthcare professionals! It also enhances peer collaboration, crucial in establishing a positive professional culture.
How:
Communication is not an art, it is a science. We are not born with perfect communication. Communication is a set of skills that can be learned and taught. At RANZCR, we believe we can do better at teaching medical communication to healthcare professionals. How can we ensure that communication is taught as effectively as possible, both for our sake and for the well-being of our patients? With your support, this is what we aim to explore.
What:
This is an important opportunity for YOU to let us know about communication in your work environment. What works well? Where are there gaps? What improvements need to be considered? How can we design a dedicated communication curriculum fit for purpose? We welcome you to one of our focus group discussions which will be held at RANZCR’s ASM in Canberra next month.
Who:
Open to all RANZCR trainees and consultants! The enthusiasts, the sceptics and everyone in between. The more voices we hear, the better!
Please note a participant consent form will need to be completed upon arrival.
